South Shields face Brackley Town on the road

Mike Williamson and his squad make the trip to Brackley to face Andy Whing’s Brackley Town, who took on the role of Manager in February 2026, replacing Gavin Cowan, who departed Brackley Town to take on the job at Shrewsbury Town. The Mariners will be looking to keep up their unbeaten start to the season, taking three wins and one draw from the opening four games.

It’s been a mixed opening for The Saints, who were relegated to the Enterprise National League North after finishing 21st on 42 points in the Enterprise National League, missing out on safety to Aldershot Town by 4 points.

The Saints have collected four points from four games, beating AFC Telford United on opening day 2-1, but since then, they have yet to win a game, drawing the next game 1-1 with Hebburn Town and losing to King’s Lynn Town and Macclesfield.

It has also been a busy summer for The Saints, who have brought in several new faces to St James Park, including Kieron Morris, who spent last season on loan at FC Halifax Town, Charlie Cooper, who signed from Yeovil Town, and DJ Sturridge, who signed from Oxford City.

TEAM NEWS

Robbie Tinkler will be unavailable due to suspension after being sent off against Merthyr Town after receiving two yellow cards.

Dan Dodds and David Carson miss out through injury.
