South Shields will once again face Boldon CA at the Boldon Welfare Ground in the Sam Bartram Memorial Cup in July.
A young Mariners XI is expected to make the short trip to the Boldon Colliery Welfare Ground to play a Boldon CA side that finished 16th in the Northern League Division Two.
The annual fixture will take place on Wednesday, July 24th at 19:30.
The match honours the memory of 1947 Fa Cup winner Sam Bartram, who played for clubs including Boldon Villa and Boldon Colliery Welfare before achieving fame with Charlton Athletic, who he represented between 1934 and 1956.
During the Second World War, he made guest appearances for Football League clubs such as Notts County, Liverpool, Crystal Palace and West Ham United, as well as having three unofficial England caps to his name.
Shields are the current holders of the Cup after winning 3-1 last season, courtesy of goals from James McGeorge and Albe Fletcher.
There are plenty of parking places at or around the ground (postcode NE35 9AN).
Boldon Colliery can also very easily be reached by public transport, with a number of buses passing through the village and Brockley Whins Metro Station under a 10-minute walk away.
