South Shields FC are delighted to announce that Bryan Taylor has signed his first professional contract with the Club.
The 19-year-old defender has signed a one-year contract with the Club as he prepares for his first season in the First Team.
Taylor spent three years as a youth player at the Club's Academy before being handed a First Team spot in pre-season.
Coming through the Shields Academy, Taylor worked with Elliott Dickman before he was made First Team manager.
"It feels very good [to sign], to spend three years with the Academy then to take the next step is what I wanted to do.
"I always felt like [Elliott Dickman] helped everyone in the Academy."
Taylor scored the opening goal in the Club's Mariners Cup victory against Grimsby Town.
"Games have been competitive so far, I feel like we're getting stronger as the weeks go by.
Taylor has impressed during pre-season which has led to Shields boss Elliott Dickman wanting the youngster to put pen to paper.
“We are delighted to have Bryan Taylor sign his first pro contract.
"Another Academy graduate to be offered one, he's had an excellent three years in the Academy programme and he's proved his worth and took his opportunities with the First Team.
"The main thing now is that he continues to develop and improve.
"Credit must go to all staff too, as it is another example of how strong our pathway is from Academy to First Team."
